Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actor, singer and songwriter. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that left her feeling like someone who was not wanted. It was during her ninth grade that she gained confidence after receiving a rousing ovation at an audition. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed her career ambition. At 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. In 2007, she was cast on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more famous. As a well-known singer, she has also recorded songs and plays. Also, she's been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
