Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) was born into a family of professional wrestlers on the 2nd of May 1972. World Wrestling Entertainment. In the wrestling ring, he competed and was awarded the W.W.E. In multiple occasions, he was awarded the title Heavyweight. Johnson made his fortune in wrestling into a career as a film actor, starring in movies such as The Mummy Returns (2001) and Tooth Fairy (2010). The HBO series Ballers and his prominent role in The Fast & Furious Franchise and Jumanji Sequels were some of the more recent projects. Maui, the voice actor of Disney's Moana as well as the Fast & Furious sequels was also a part in this film. We are celebrating his birthday today and just want to say how grateful we are for such a talented person. Dwayne Douglas Johnson better than the stage name The Rock is an American actor wrestler and businessman. Though he came from a family of wrestlers but he became famous through the sports. Johnson was born on May 2nd 1972, at Hayward California. Rocky Johnson is his father as well as Ata is pro wrestler. In the 60s and 70s, his maternal grandpa, Peter Maivia rose to prominence within the pro world, as High Chief. Johnson's early years were spent travelling and watching his father fight in the ring. Johnson was a star athlete in the sport of football in high school, was offered a full-scholarship to study at in the University of Miami. Johnson graduated with a bachelor of General Studies (criminology and biology) during the same year.
